Safeguarding Across the Project Cycle
This toolkit provides practical guidance for integrating safeguarding throughout the entire project cycle, from needs assessment and project design to implementation, monitoring, and project closure. It helps civil society organizations (CSOs), NGOs, and humanitarian and development practitioners embed safeguarding into routine project management by identifying and addressing risks of harm, abuse, exclusion, and power imbalances at every stage. Using practical tools, reflection questions, and real-world examples, the guidance promotes safer, more accountable programming by strengthening risk identification, improving reporting and feedback mechanisms, supporting continuous learning, and ensuring safeguarding remains an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time compliance exercise.
